You Sunk My Party Barge
The second anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, release of the Virginia Tech report, and the news that a favorite co-worker and his fiancée are missing following what was supposed to be a short sightseeing trip in a small plane, has driven me here: to my own blog where I can write about all the really bad shit that seems to be hitting all at once.
I haven't had the urge to post on AOAPB in quite a while, as evidenced by the . . . lack of recent posts.
The thing is, the world has kept spinning. I've just stopped responding by writing. I was shocked that the "Disaster Fatigue" URL was actually available. Isn't everyone as wiped out by all the bad news as me? Surely I'm not the only one trying to live a vaguely normal life and absorb all the hits that keep coming.
